Water/oil separators for compressed air condensate
JEP series water/oil separators treat the condensate drained from air receivers, dryers, filters and low points in the compressed air network. This condensate is a mixture of water, lubricating oil and particles that cannot be discharged directly into the drain. The separator retains the oil and allows clean water to be discharged, in compliance with current environmental regulations.
Available for compressor flow rates from 2 to 60 m³/min, covering everything from small workshops to high-capacity industrial installations.
How a water/oil separator works
Condensate from the drains enters the separator from the top. In the first chamber, gravity separates the heavier oil from the water due to the difference in density. The water then passes through a bed of adsorbent material (activated carbon or oleophilic polypropylene) that retains traces of residual oil that gravity could not separate. The water exits from the bottom with an oil concentration below the legal limit permitted for discharge into the sewer system. The retained oil accumulates in the internal tank and is periodically removed as industrial waste.
JEP separator range: selection by flow rate
The separator is sized according to the maximum flow rate of the compressor (or the sum of compressors) in the installation. The JEP series covers the full typical range:
JEP 2: Up to 2 m³/min. For low-power piston and screw compressors.
JEP 3.5: Up to 3.5 m³/min. For workshops with a medium-power screw compressor.
JEP 5: Up to 5 m³/min. For light industrial installations with moderate demand.
JEP 10: Up to 10 m³/min. For factories with one or two screw compressors.
JEP 30: Up to 30 m³/min. For large industrial buildings and continuous production lines.
JEP 60: Up to 60 m³/min. For high-capacity industrial installations with multiple compressors in parallel.
Environmental regulations and compliance
Compressed air condensate is classified as hazardous waste if it contains oil above the permitted limits. Environmental regulations prohibit its direct discharge into the sewer system. JEP separators ensure that the treated water meets the required discharge parameters.
The equipment is manufactured in accordance with the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), and the compressed air pre-treated in the installation meets the quality levels defined in ISO 8573.
